Non-NHS Examinations
Doctors are often asked by patients to complete reports and certificates for various reasons, which may or may not require physical examination. If a physical examination is required, this can often take at least thirty minutes, so a special appointment is required usually outside normal surgery hours. Most of these private examinations and reports carry a fee recommended by the British Medical Association. Details of charges and appointments are available from reception or in 'non NHS fees' area on our website.
Orchard Travel Clinic/Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre
If you will be going away for a holiday don't forget to book into the Travel Clinic for advice. Ask for the Travel Risk Assessment Form at reception or download it from the website and fill it in before your appointment with the Nurse.
Please click here to dowload a copy of our Travel Form.
As the travel clinic is a non NHS service a £25 consultation fee will apply for each 20 minute travel consultation. This cost is redeemable against the cost of any private travel vaccinations that are recommended. A full list of costs are listed on the travel risk assessment form and in our travel leaflet.
We are a designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre, registered with Health Protection Scotland.
Our travel clinic is available to patients registered with other GP practices in Scotland.
Influenza Vaccination
Annual Influenza Vaccinations are recommended for many people in the late Autumn (October). When approaching the influenza season please prepare by registering your name in case you are eligible. Clinics will commence late autumn each year, for those over 65 or with a recognised risk factor. Please contact reception for further details. There is also a Pneumococcal (Meningitis and chest infection) Vaccination available.
Open Surgery
We offer a 'sit and wait' open surgery on Monday mornings between 08:30 and 09:30. Patients will be seen in order of arrival if they come in before 9:30am. There may be other surgeries going on so dont worry if you see some patients being taken from the waiting room more quickly than you. Remember booked appointments are available at all other times during the week,
