Education – GP Specialist Trainees

To become accredited as a GP, doctors are required to spend a year as a GP Specialist Trainee (GPST) in a Practice approved for this purpose. It is also a requirement for GPs and GPSTs to be assessed while consulting. Thus your consultation may be videotaped for educational purposes but only with your written consent. GPST doctors also visit the practice during their training years. Young doctors going through their hospital training will also visit the practice from time to time.
